At Escape Motions, we're always looking for ways to enhance your creative workflow and improve the tools you use every day. With that in mind, we've made some important updates to the organization of Rebelle art surfaces.
Over time, as we've expanded our selection of high-quality digital papers, the list became a bit overwhelming. Some categories had too many options, while others were too fragmented, making navigation more difficult than it needed to be. To streamline your experience, we've:
- Reorganized paper classifications to reduce excessive groups and make each category more intuitive.
- Balanced the number of papers in each category so that no single group is overloaded with options.
- Fixed some errors in paper names and numbering, ensuring consistency and clarity.
This update isn’t just about tidying things up, it’s also setting the stage for the future! As we continue adding new paper textures and exciting features, this streamlined system will help keep everything organized and easy to navigate, ensuring a smooth and clutter-free experience for you.
What Has Changed?
We’ve added new paper groups based on their material composition:
- [ST] Stone (formerly Lithography) - Now includes all lithography papers: Lithography Raw and Lithography Fine.
- [WD] Wood (formerly Wood Veneer) - Now contains Wood Veneer Exotic and Wood Veneer Traditional.
- [LK] Lokta - A dedicated group for all Lokta papers, reflecting their unique material properties.
- [FT] Felt - Since the felt paper has a distinct texture that didn’t quite fit into broader categories, we created a dedicated Felt group, which now includes all papers from the Felt paper set.
Additionally, to avoid redundancy and improve organization, we’ve merged several overlapping categories:
- All Cold Pressed papers are now under the Cold Pressed group.
- All Hot Pressed papers are now under the Hot Pressed group.
- All Washi papers are now under the Washi group.
- All Kenaf papers have been merged into the Exotic group.
As a result of these changes, we needed to rename one paper set, specifically "Exotic Crumpled" is now "Crumpled Mix".
What Does This Mean for You?
If you already own these papers, you can continue using them as usual, nothing has changed in terms of functionality. The original paper names and IDs remain the same.
New users who purchase these papers will see them under the updated naming and grouping system.
If you’d like to check specific changes, we’ve compiled a detailed reference table listing all papers and their updated classifications:

We appreciate your feedback and support as we refine Rebelle’s features. If you have any suggestions or notice anything that still needs adjusting, feel free to reach out.
Happy Painting!
