All brushes in the Pencil category switch to another color than I have selected when you switch to another pencil or switch to the eraser. The color jumps to a value halfway the color square in the gray values. For example, if I have selected black (or any other color), and switch to eraser, and switch back, I now have a gray color.

There are two types of Pencil sets: Graphite Pencil and Colored Pencil. Graphite Pencils have their preset colors (gray) and Colored Pencils can have any color.
