Old Man on the Bus Study

Study done of an old man I saw on the bus last winter here in NYC.

Your illustrative style in this piece looks fantastic, and your form has great depth.  Do I detect a little Rockwell inspiration in this?  Just a little?  It reminds me a little of a Saturday Evening Post cover.    

I was a bit disorientated by the background at first,
as I didn't know what the bus stations in New York look like.

But I like the painting, the colors, the brushstrokes.
I also love how his bag with the shopping is made.
Nice scencery, well made.

@Emmjayen: thanks! Yes, I was pulling some Saturday Evening Post / Rockwell with this one -- I love the characters that appear in those paintings; they're so fun and interesting!

@2dpainter: ha! Yeah, I kind of left the bus interior out of the study -- was mostly just interested in practicing my brushwork and character work. My camera is full of so many interesting New Yorkers that I've seen while out and about, so you'll probably see more studies along these lines. :)
