Is there any way to change the brush view so that it only displays a large thumbnail. Like there is in photoshop
In the brush panel only the brush stroke and brush size don't help me much.
Can I somehow enlarge the small thumbnails .
I have a lot of brushes here that I would like to import, but many of them are hard to distinguish or identify by a simple brush stroke (whether because they have a weird texture or are too big to see properly or whatever).

Hi Annie,

At the moment there is no way of elnarging the brush preview in the Brushes panel. We will try to come up with the best solution.

Hi: I'm completely new to Rebelle and have acquired Rebelle 5. I'd be grateful if you could explain how new brushes are installed. I downloaded a zip file from the free assets and followed the drag and drop method described, but nothing extra showed up in the panel. Do I have to unzip the file and install each brush individually, or is there a way of installing the whole set at once? Basically, all I have is watercolor, gouache, Sumi-e, Rebelle 3 original, and spatter. I'm trying to install a set of oil brushes.

Hello, I'm trying to replicate Copic or Alcohol-based markers.  Has anyone had any luck with that?  Using the Marker brush (a dry media brush) you get persistent overlapped strokes that then need to be blended manually.  Using the ink brush (a wet media brush), you get a better performance with blending strokes over time.  Finding the balance of water, absorbency, re-wet, and diffusion speed is tricky.  There is still a fear of lifting the brush when filling in a space.  Too many repetitive strokes adds too much water.  Being alcohol based, drying time is different than water.  Lowering opacity helps but leads to other issues such as faded color and excessive strokes.  Does anyone have any solutions?  Thank you.

Here are some brushes/shapes I have created and I wanted to share them here with the community. Mostly for oil painterly fillers and ect.

Thanks for the brushes, Allen! Your painting of the two woman, using a Zorn palette is superb!

I needed to draw some characters with scales, so I made a few Rebelle 6 brushes to simplify the process! You can get them below, or via the Free Assets->Brushes section of the site.

Scale FadedScale OpaqueScale WideScale LineScale SpacedScale ScatterScale Random

An example sheet, for reference:

Scale Brush Examples

These examples use clipping masks, and most are shaded on separate layers with regular brushes. Scale Faded is shaded with itself.

Scale Line is good for odd shapes, filling gaps, or sorting sharp curves, since the other brushes can get wonky at sharp angles.

Scale Random uses Rebelle's scatter function, and being true random, can result in lines of close-together scales. So (for now) Scale Scatter can be easier to get a freckle-like "random" look.

Why is it so complicated to create custom experimental brushes in Rebelle? Its so easy in Photoshop and other programs.
