Steve has been an artist for as long as he can remember. He believes we all start out as artists, and he has no doubt that at some point, each of us has picked up a pencil or marker to connect with our creative side. Steve just decided to stick with it and have stayed committed to developing his style which consists of a wide range of realism, impressionism, abstract, and a little bit of all three mixed together. In short, he paints what he likes and chooses colors that move him.
He has had work published from TV series on TNT, Cinemax, to art magazines, graphic novels, and video games. He also sells prints in Europe, South America, and coast to coast here in the U.S. Steve works with quite a few different mediums, whether it’s with watercolors, gouache, acrylics, oils, charcoal or digital he tries his best to remain consistent in the quality of the work.
His subject matter is also wide-ranging, consisting of concept, whimsical, wildlife, fantasy, and science fiction. While Steve does work in both traditional and digital mediums, he tends to follow a simple rule: "I make my traditional paintings look like digital photos and my digital work like traditional paintings." He believes art is more than just a piece of paper or canvas; it is an extension of the artist himself. For him, the goal is to produce art worthy of being displayed in people's homes, featured on magazine covers, a catalyst to inspire our youth, and to leave a legacy for his family. Time escapes us all, thus, he chooses to spend the time being a loving husband, chasing his dreams and developing his craft.
